Wakimbizi 26,000 wa Sudan Kusini waingia Uganda

Kundi kubwa la wakimbizi kutoka nchi ya Sudani Kusini limeingia nchini Uganda baada ya kukimbia mapigano ya wanajeshi watiifu kwa serikali na wale wanaomuunga mkono makamu wa rais.

Inakadiriwa takribani watu 26,000 wamekimbia makazi yao nchini Sudani Kusini na kuvuka mpaka wa Uganda kufuatia mapigano ya hivi karibuni huku wengi wao wakiwa wanawake na watoto.

Msemaji wa shirika la wakimbizi la Umoja wa Mataifa Andreas Needham, amesema kuwa licha ya kusitishwa kwa mapigano baina ya majeshi hasimu nchini humo, bado idadi ya watu wanaoikimbia nchi hiyo inazidi kuongezeka huku 90% ya watu wanaokimbia wakiwa ni wanawake na watoto.

Wakuu wa serikali ya nchi hiyo, rais Silva Kiir na makamu wake Riek Machar wanaendelea kutafuta ufumbuzi wa muda mrefu wa tofauti zao za kisiasa huku wanajeshi watiifu kwa viongozi wao kila mara wakiingia kwenye mapigano.
